I had somehow heard about these free yoga sessions happening on the radio and again in a Sunday newspaper supplement and decided to check it out yesterday.
Here’s the deal:
Every Thursday afternoon (17.30 – 18.30) until the end of March 2007 there will be free Ashtanga Yoga* on the Suncoast grassy knoll in front of the beach. Open to anyone who’s interested – experienced or not, this is a great introduction to yoga for those who haven’t tried it. Believe me you will definitely feel the benefits and realize just what your body is capable of!
Sponsored by VO2max, Puma and Carpe Diem drinks (loved the free iced tea!) means words bound to get out fast about what’s going down, but there’s plenty of space for loads of people so no worries there.
Oooh and the definite added bonus is that you get to watch the waves whilst revitalizing body and mind. Who needs Red Bull!
*This method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
