It’s a long weekend, so why not spend it at the Southern Cross music festival, which promises to be an unforgettable event. The highlights include Lark, Dan Patlansky and Durban’s own Dopescape; amongst many other quality bands.
From Dave Chislett, PR manager for the festival and editor of thechiz.co.za:
The picturesque festival site is a mere two and a half hour drive from Durban and boasts some of the most magnificent scenery to grace a music festival anywhere in the world. The site features excellent amenities, including permanent ablution blocks (yes, with HOT showers) for 6 000 people, shady camp sites along 4km on water frontage on the Mooi River, excellent fishing sites, white water rafting, hiking trails, 4X4 trails and a private back packers accommodation unit.
The festival is set to takes place from Friday 22 September until the end of the public holiday, 25 September 2006. It will offer you the best in South African bands, musicians and performers. But it is about more than just a musical weekend away. The Southern Cross festival is yet another fundraising opportunity for Conservation – A portion of the sales of festival profits are donated to The Crane Foundation and The Raptor Centre.
