Westville's inaugural punk show went down like a one legged man doing the hokey-kokey, which means it went very well. Lowprofile and Sibling Rivalry played at Chiltern Park Football club in Westville to more than 160 people. It was an interesting mix of fresh faced Westville junior locals, the older more hardened Westville drinkers and the loyal Durban punkers that made the trip to the sanctuary of the suburbs despite the crazy downpour and lack of any skyscrapers. Chiltern was temporarily transformed into teething mass of sweaty moshers and floorpunchers, while the hardened locals looked on sceptically, it was fantastic. Thanks to Brad 'Emo-boy' Wiley, Couch, Max and everyone that came and partied with us. Anyone interested can check out www.lowprofile.co.za or www.myspace.com/lowprofilesa for more information of this nature.
Hmmm wish you'd gotten some photos of the actual gig! Bleak I missed this one, heard it was awesome. I rekon it could become a more frequently used venue so next time I'll be there.
The Lowprofile photos from the actual gig. See, I was trying to make one of those slide shows where you see the stage getting built up from nothing to the actual show. The Sibling Rivalry photos from their soundcheck.
