Here's a new site called DurbanVibes.tv that offers image galleries and videos of Durban. It's not entirely clear why they do this, I imagine it's a type of online portfolio or tourism based site that will cater to visitors someday.

It's cleanly designed and has a bit of content on offer, with the promise of more to come.

There are also a few links to official information for the city, as well as a couple of Google ads and a weather report.

Of course, if it's brilliant photography you're after, it's difficult for any site to come close to the work of Peter Bendheim, who has been providing word class images of Durban for years in the Metrobeat magazine as well as on his portfolio and blog.

However some of the pictures on Durban Vibes I do quite like, for example this one of the new pier at Umhlanga, not having had the chance to get out there myself:

It's still a basic site and has a long way to go, but some of the images are good and there is potential. Let's see if it can just build and keep that momentum!
