TheLappies - well done for expressing your views! There are a lot of us that feel the same frustration. I have been away from SA for 5 years and still follow the news religiously every day, looking for that glimmer of hope, the hope that will allow me to return to my beautiful country. The way I see it is that, if the government is not 'doing enough' for it's people, how am I going to help??? If the govt. can't set a good example for it's people, well then who is?? I would love to come back and 'make the difference' but how if the govt. is not willing to?? Leaving SA has definitely been no chicken run, it has been the hardest thing ever! As for the CRIME EXPO website - at the start I was very 50/50, not all for it...then last Saturday my dad's business was held up by 3 armed men, 10111 didn't even answer the phone, and my dad's local police station didn't even show! I received an email from a friend I went to school with on Tuesday. Her, her husband, and their 2 small kids were held up at gunpoint, 5pm in the evening 3 weeks ago, in Durban, in their home. So if using the 2010 as a weapon to stop crime well then I'm all for it...but that's just me.
