I think the night they closed downstairs was the Wednesday public holiday last week. I think they choose upstairs to stay open cause it's the smoking area (which Dave said he was going to enforce - not sure if that is happening or not), and it's got the pool tables i.e. $$$$ is made.

I also agree with you T., new Burn is definitely not the same, and I think there's a gap opened up in the market for a club similar to old Burn. Where no jocks or anyone not dressed in black would fear to tread, that kinda thing. Maybe that new place opening where Sideburn was will fill the gap?

Agree about the prices too, they aren't the cheapest anymore. They sit somewhere on the middle of the scale, with the drink special nights of 54 being the cheapest and clubs like Society and Panama being the most expensive.
