that was a little presumptuous of me. For my money, the "rather vocal criticisms" are 100% correct. Half the movie involves completely needless shots of Gore looking wistfully into the distance while his voice-over tells stories of his childhood which have very tenuous links to global warming. Then we have my personal favourite juxtaposition in the movie, involving a "top down" view of George W Bush climbing out of his limo then staring up at the camera, immediately followed by a shot of Gore looking down through an airplane window. You don't get much cheaper than that... "I like maxims that don't encourage behaviour modification." [ ] |
